Run for Tibet training

August 1, 2008 – 7:39 am

Dear Good People,

I am feeling extra bendy today. I am just about to go out for a light jog at my local park. I have started on my Rocky diet of egg whites and chocolate. In two weeks I am hoping to transform into a muscular machine.

Hopefully see you all at the starting point on Saturday 9th August, ready to provide water and oranges.

The big setup

July 31, 2008 – 2:09 pm

Dear good people,

I am setting up the exhibition today. I feel slightly sweaty and excited at the sheer thought of it. As I write there is blue tak stuck to my top and photos are strewn around all over the place. I am looking forward to finally displaying them in the Cafe and seeing what feedback I get. I am taking photos of the colourful setup process and will post them on the site.

Seydou Keita

July 28, 2008 – 4:16 pm

What an experience. I have just seen an exhibition by Seydou Keïta.

Seydou Keïta was one of the most celebrated West African photographers. From his studio in the centre of Bamako, Mali, located behind the prison, K eïta took about 20,000 portraits between 1949 and 1963. With a Brownie in one hand and keen eye he produced some of the most arresting portraits I have ever laid my eyes on.

‘A photograph is a souvenir, a work of art, and a document’, Keïta said. At the peak of his career, hundreds of people queued outside his studio every day.

The Roof of the World exhibition launch

– 3:55 pm

Dear Good people,

I cordially invite you all to my exhibition launch on Wednesday 6th August 2008 from 6 – 8pm.

Come and sip cocktails and view some art, all for a good cause.

Lend me your eyes

– 3:51 pm

Dear Good people,

Exhibition times are nearly here. As I am living in a small room in the depths of Brixton I have no room to store my photographs. So I have proped them up around my room. I feel like I am living with a group of Tibetans. There eyes and expressions following me around the room.

I didn’t know what was involved with setting up your own exhibition in London, it’s been a winding experience. This will be the start of many.
